SYMA S018 Aurora & S026G Mini Chinook
Feb 6th
After a bit of a break, I recently started flying my Apache helicopter again, and enjoyed it as much as ever. So much so that I got fed up waiting for it to recharge ready for the next flight, and – yes – bought some more.
Pick a card… any card… but not from Clintons!
Dec 20th
UPDATE – 22 December 2011:
In the interests of fairness, I am happy to report that Clintons have put things right – and then some!
Having already received a refund for the card and expecting no further action, yesterday I received a phone call from Tim Fairs, Clintons’ Marketing Director. He was extremely apologetic about the whole incident, and explained that there had been some technical issues, but that they should have been identified and rectified much quicker. He added that he had personally arranged for the card to be recreated in both standard and large sizes, and was having them sent to me via next-day courier.
I finally ‘jumped in’
Dec 19th
Well, it wasn’t so much a ‘jump’ – more a case of dipping my toe in the water, only to be grabbed by the lurking beast that is Forza 4 and held under until I was too weak to resist. But yes, I finally bought an Xbox 360.
Vita game pricing will be interesting
Dec 17th
I’ve just been reading an article on the Official PlayStation Magazine UK website, which contains lots of PlayStation Vita launch information – including the pricing structure for Vita games. I found these comments very interesting…
While it’s fairly safe to assume that AAA titles such as Uncharted will retail around this £40-£50 mark, there will be no single price for PlayStation Vita games. European PlayStation boss Jim Ryan has said “I think it would be safe to assume we will take a more tailored approach [to game pricing] than perhaps we’ve done in the past.”
Indeed, SCEA’s Chris Norden has stated that developers are “free to explore whatever business model [they] want,” and that includes free-to-play titles.
My first published program
Oct 15th
Yesterday, I was looking through some old images on my PC, trying to tidy things up and maybe reclaim a little space, and found some scans I took a couple of years ago from an old magazine. I was going to upload them to my ‘old’ website, but never got around to it. Thought I’d stick them on here now in a blog post, since they have a bit of sentimental value to me. What’s so special about them? Well, it was the first time I ever made money from programming a computer!
