It’s been a few days since the beta for Bungie’s Destiny came to an end, and now that the experience has had time to sink in, I’ve been thinking back over it and trying to decide whether or not to pre-order the game. I had enjoyed the alpha test a few weeks back, but because I hadn’t pre-ordered I wasn’t guaranteed a code for beta access. Fortunately, Twitter buddy @Nemesis_7T4 had some going spare and was kind enough to let me have one.
Back in June 2012, just after E3, I wrote a post about how the new Tomb Raider game seemed to bear striking similarities to Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series. Later, in December 2012, a preview appeared on the PC Gamer website which was less than flattering. It referred to there being “a lack of meaningful interaction” and also made comparisons to the Uncharted series. Having just recently completed the single-player portion of the game, I’m now in a better position to comment.
Just a quick post to have a bit of a rant.
I have to say, I think Capcom’s
reasons excuses for not bringing Resident Evil Revelations to the PlayStation Vita are some of the weakest I’ve ever read.
Replying to a comment on the US PlayStation Blog, Capcom’s Product Manager Mike Lunn says:
3DS and PS-vita infrastructure let alone developing games for them are extremely different beasts. Even just the screens as you mention are completely different resolutions/functions.
This comment looks particularly ridiculous when you consider that they are bringing the game to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, two systems which are pretty different from each other, let alone the Nintendo 3DS. Don’t even get me started on the screen resolution thing; if that’s an issue for Capcom’s developers, they may as well give up now.
Interesting news broke yesterday that GAME are apparently going to offer Reward Points for your PSN Trophies and XBL Achievements. On the face of it, this is great news for gamers in the UK. But it also raises the question of what – if anything – they plan to do about those accounts which aren’t entirely legitimate.
So, that new Tomb Raider “gameplay” trailer seems to show very little actual gameplay, aside maybe from a few QTE sections.
It also seems to be a wholesale rip-off of the Uncharted games. Don’t flame me – I’m not knocking it! Read on for an explanation before you get annoyed with me.
